She's been working on the whole walking thing for a couple of days now. The kids, delighted in her almost-accomplishment, have been keeping me well informed: "Aunt Keryn, Yum Yum is standing by herself!" "Momma, Yum Yum walked a step, holding onto the couch!" Yesterday Zee took her by the hands, and helped her walk around the house. She's been utterly delighted by all the attention.
Today, after Daddy and the four older boys left for the father and sons campout, Yum Yum was standing, as usual, by the couch. She turned around to face the computer across the room, and took a hesitant step. And another. Another. She was a little wobbly, but she recovered every time. Almost before I told Em to look at her sister, Yum Yum was standing next to the computer table.
Success!
We all cheered, and she clapped along with us contentedly. For the rest of the day she hasn't stopped practicing. She and Hebs had a lovely time playing with each other tonight, romping around the living room with glow sticks, shrieking and giggling. More than half the time she was trying to walk.
Hooray for my Yum Yum girl. I love her so much!
