Because geologists are so wealthy!

(I just wrote and erased an entire post, because it was whining, and I got bored even writing, much less reading it.  Goodness, can't I do anything but whine right now?  Long story short:  Em has another ear infection; she did not poke her ear, it was the start of the infection.  And, despite five days of antibiotics, I still have a sinus headache.  Doctor said it could last up to three weeks.  Loverly.)

So let's talk about my fabulous new idea for a book:  I'm going to write a geology guidebook for the Lord of the Rings movie locations!

It will be terribly profitable, I'm telling you.  As soon as this post gets published, I expect to be contacted by innumerable publishers offering me advances to write this book for them.  The subset of Lord of the Rings fans and geologists surely is vast and wealthy, right?

Seriously, though, I think I will see if something like this has been done.  Or could be done (although as a series of blog posts, not as a book).  I love the Lord of the Rings trilogy, and I adore the movies (and their extras, too!), and I love geology.  So, really, why not?

  4. Hmmmm...so my sister, my mother, and one of my best friends are willing to comment about my book. And Mema is willing to buy it. But none of them are publishers. Or even geologists.

There go my dreams of fame and fortune. Sigh!

    :)

  5. As a fellow scientist, and being infinitely wealthy (of course), I will fund your research needed to write this book. I will proof-read it for accuracy and fit the bill to get it published. The first question you must now ask yourself is, Which real life location do you want to visit first? May I recommend a trip to New Zealand South Island. (Ah, to dream.)

So, maybe, when I become rich, I could do that for you. But you would be limited to the number of people (kids) that you could take with you on your 'research' trips.
