The Roof, Part I

The shingles arrive.

An adventure in our own front yard!

Steve, Kim, Bradley, and George (not seen) starting the removal of the three layers--two asphalt, and the original-to-the-house (1944) wooden shakes. (Note the kiddos in the big window.)

Children weren't allowed outside, but fortunately the big picture window provided a view.

Bradley, Gabe, and Seth (my teenage nephews), on the wooden slat bare roof. All the shingles are off!

General George, standing in front of millions of pounds of shingles.

My poor bushes got a beating, but they bounced back once the shingles were removed. (Thanks, Michelle, Eva, and various kids!)

Why the boys are wearing shorts, I don't know. It's actually kinda chilly outside. But, teenage boys, who knows? It's a mystery I will get to explore in seven years.

Breaking for dinner--pizzas at the park across the street.
