Fathers and Sons Campout

Every May, many LDS wards commemorates the restoration of the Priesthood by having a Fathers and Sons Campout. (How huge bonfires and peeing on trees commemorates the Priesthood is a mystery to me, but just go with it. They have tons of fun, at any rate.) Our ward's campout was last Friday and Saturday.

The campsite chosen was a gravel turnout up Diamond Fork Canyon: Close to home, easy to find, and best of all, free.

The fact that it was bounded by a snow-melt creek was just a bonus.

My muddy, tired, mostly happy campers came home around 10:00am--the morning spring snowstorm in the mountains had nixed any activity plans Daddy might have considered. That, and the fact that Em's stomach bug visited Zee in the night and morning. (And afternoon, as it turned out. And then I got it. It's been super lovely.)

After hearing about all their adventures, and cleaning up a little, I came downstairs to this:

12 noon--the aftermath of the trip
