Another Reading Comprehension Fail

(By the way: I love that the word "fail" has become a noun. I don't know why I love it so, but I do.)

Last night I spent a little time reading some of my favorite "mommyblogs", and then I switched over to the Deseret News website, and scanned the headlines. As I was scrolling down the page, I saw the headline "U. Geophysicist's Research Helps Understand Earthquakes."*

Except I didn't read the word "geophysicist." Instead, I saw the word "gynecologist." And spent a split second trying to figure out how in the WORLD a gynecologist's research was shedding light on earthquakes...

It was then I decided it was time to go to sleep. (You'd think that, as a geologist, I wouldn't misread the word "geophysicist.")

*(Nevermind the dubious grammar of this headline. Helps who understand earthquakes?)
