Salt Lake County Fair


We went to the Salt Lake County Fair yesterday. Despite the date on the calendar (August 8), the weather could not have been more perfect--the high yesterday was 70 degrees, lower by almost 30 degrees than our average this time of year. There was even a brief rainstorm right as we parked our car, which cleared out the crowds nicely and made it possible to just walk right up and get on any carnival ride the kids wanted.

We rode carnival rides, we inspected 4-H cows, bulls, goats, sheep, and pigs (and made the obligatory "Some Pig!" jokes while looking for Charlotte), we petted random animals, we rode ponies, and we ate carnival food. (Thanks, Lisa and family for the delicious Navajo Tacos!) We had an absolutely marvelous time.

Although I think Gee had the best time of all, judging by the huge grin he has on his face in all the pictures:
