Giving the "Thanks" in Thanksgiving
Really, it was nothing. No, really.
Well, okay. My pleasure. You're welcome.
Why are you thanking me? Well, it is because of my 11th Great-Grandfather (Thomas "the Pilgrim" Rogers) and Bradley's 10th Great-Grandfather (a Wampanoag Indian Chief named John Hyanno) that Thanksgiving even happened.
Now, aren't you grateful?
Okay, so we don't know much about Thomas "the Pilgrim" except that he was on the Mayflower, and didn't die before Thanksgiving-time; and we don't now much about Chief John Hyanno expect that he was a Wampanoag Indian Chief, but presumably they were both there, that First Thanksgiving. So we will gladly take credit.
On a more serious note, I am grateful for family. For healthy kids. For computers and cars and modern miracles. For my husband. For the Atonement of Jesus Christ. For the Gospel.
And I'm even grateful for Pilgrims and Indians. Especially the ones I'm related to.
