Advertising and Peer Pressure Really Work

So...we're trying to let the kids manage their own money. (Within reason, as they have to be in kindergarten before they can spend without permission, and they have to pay tithing.) To that end, once they realized they had enough money from Grandma Peter's Christmas presents, we all trooped over to Macey's to buy (generic) Pillow Pets.

They are THRILLED. Each got to hand the cashier their money, each got their change back. (And then dropped it all over the floor of the store. Sigh.) Hopefully this is a good choice for them. We'll see--it is astonishingly hard for me to let them do this. I guess I'm more of a control freak then I realized.

  1. They look so happy! I think they are cute little things (and the pillow pets are cute too!) I actually think they are so soft & cuddly that I wouldn't mind having one for watching videos or just my happy nappy time, but I have to earn my own money too! Seeyaloveyabye! :)
