Gee is sitting beside me, playing with my earphones. The little rubber-silicone rings on the earbuds is wearing off, and Gee is helping it. I looked down at him a moment ago, watched him diligently peeling, the earbuds clutched in his chubby hands.
"No, Gee. Don't peel that off, please. Okay?"
He earnestly looked up at me. "Okay, Momma." Taking a quick glance back down at the earphones, he looked back up to find me still watching him. "Okay, Momma. Goodbye now." He reached up and gently pushed my chin away so that I was no longer looking at him. "Goodbye."
And then he went back to picking at my earphones.

Em and Zee are playing some kind of spaceship game. Or space elevator. Em periodically comes into the living room. (The living room is where the window air conditioner is, therefore the living room is where I am.) She sits next to a narrow box she has meticulously set up longways, pushes a "button" ("Thirty-two!" she says brightly), and then runs back to the family room where Zee is working on a "computer" which apparently is hooked up to a "space telescope". Em just informed Zee that she "destroyed the asteroid", to which news Zee responded, "I saw it on my computer! Good job!"

Hebs has finally decided that sitting up might be a worthwhile skill to obtain, after all. I've been talking to Gee's physical therapist (she visits our house twice a month), and she has given me a few exercises to try with Hebs, since he is quite behind on the whole sitting-creeping-crawling thing. It's awfully nice to have a qualified physical therapist to tell you not to worry, but do these things, and we'll re-evaluate in two weeks. All without leaving my home!
