You can guess how that works out. The girls, in particular, haven't been to sleep before 10pm since David and the kids arrived. (Luckily, the girls also are more likely to sleep in. At least that way I don't have two grumpy girlies every day.)
Last night, we sent everyone downstairs to get ready for bed. When I came down five minutes later, complete chaos reigned. Children were jumping off the bunk bed into piles of blankets and pillows. Gleeful chasing was occurring. Amazingly enough, no one was crying or angry with each other, although usually it's only a matter of time before that happens.
Sometimes it's hard to remember to just let the kids be kids--even if that means it gets really loud sometimes. They are such great children--everyone is adjusting well, sharing and helping each other out. So I guess we can put up with a little craziness.
Just not at 9:30pm. Sigh.
