Random things I heard today

This morning Gee and Hebs were playing with two of my sun hats.
Gee: We're cowboys!
Me: Oh, are you riding the range?
Gee: No, we're WALKING the range.

I'm currently on the hold with the Nevada Unemployment Department--David has been on hold for more than 70 minutes so far, and I'm hoping we'll get through before he has to leave for school in less than an hour. Besides the usual groovy easy listening music, they have a loop of recorded messages about what you need to have ready when they pick up, what days are the least busy, and this little gem:
Cell phones and cordless phones may experience difficulties utilizing this system. Please use a landline phone whenever possible.
What does that even mean? Who even uses a non-cordless phone anymore? And landline does NOT equal corded phone.

I let the younger kids play with Em's tea set--with water--this afternoon. Em, Lala, Hebs, and Gee sat around the table having a little tea party. At one point, they all clinked their teacups together and said, more or less simultaneously, "Pip, pip, cheerio!"

By the way, no rash, so it wasn't roseola. Yum Yum is still grumpy, but her fever is completely gone. At least one tooth--top left front--is peeking out, so maybe she just really struggles with teething. (I hope not.)
